Ahoy there crafters!

To celebrate the release of Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Men Tell No Tales, we've been creating some pirate themed crafts perfect for the kids to get busy with! With half term coming up why not get your craft kits out and get those creative minds going.
Todays craft is a classic pirate favourite - a treasure chest! For this one you will need the following items:
Start off by painting your egg box, we went for the traditional brown for a wooden effect but this one can be any creative colour the kids fancy. Then leave this to dry thoroughly.
Whilst you're waiting for this to dry its time to make your skull and cross bones badge for the top of the chest. Start by cutting a square of black card and the skull and cross bones from white card. This is the ideal time to use one of our favourite products, Micro Dots! These little gems are ideal for tricky shaped items and they are literally the smallest glue dots! Super easy to use simply fimrly press your shape onto the sticky micro dot sheet and peel off, you can see instantly the dots have stuck to your shape and are ready to be secured in place. It is that easy! No drying time or sticky glue mess runining your designs.
Now you have the perfect badge to stick on the top of the chest, for this we used our Craft Dots. Apply the dot to the back of the black card, press firmly down on the dot to secure it to the card and peel back the liner to expose the adhesive side. Again, these are perfect for crafts with the kids as theres no drying time and no mess!
And finally, we're onto the gold trim. For this you can use ribbon, card, felt - whatever you have in the craft kit. We cut some strips of gold card and cut out a lock for the front of the chest. To stick these down we used our Glue Tape Roller, available in a range of taks these are great for super sticky jobs! Run the gun down the side of your card and stick in place - EASY! We used our Permanent one for this job, it will stick any tricky materials down with no fuss.
And there you go! Get into the Pirate spirit and get creative! We filled ours with some gold beads, gems and shells. Try adding some chocolate coins for a tastier finished design!
